I am Carel van Driel from Dordrecht in the Netherlands.
It seems that a lot of people from all over the world are very interested in what I am building in my backyard. So on this site I want to show you.
I am building a Mini 650 in my backyard, or as I am calling it "the boat building yard".
I will show you with a picture journal how I am making progress with The building of a mini 650.
The Mini 650 is a real offshore sailboat which is used for some incredible offshore regattas.

And there are much more.
None of these races are sailed in or around Holland. And that is a little bit strange for a water sport minded country as Holland. The Mini 650 is also not very popular in Holland. To what I have heard I am building the fourth Mini 650 in Holland. Two other ones seem to be polyester ones, and a other guy is building the same one as I am in Hellevoetsluis.
